By-election - June 6, 2010
The Tour de l'Île de Montréal and the by-election will be sharing the spotlight
On June 6, the Tour de l’Île de Montréal, this great annual cycling event, will pass through certain areas of the Rivière-des-Prairies borough.
Given the trajectory of the event, less than 3% of electors could, in theory, find it difficult to reach their polling station, as some streets will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Many measures will be taken to ensure that electors can exercise their right to vote without major inconveniences.
Polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and access will be ensured by Élection Montréal and Vélo Québec Événements employees, producer of the Tour de l’Île de Montréal.
Electors who wish to avoid these potential inconveniences may exercise their right to vote on Sunday, May 30, advance polling day, open to the public from noon to 8 p.m.
